Seventh Grade
Seventh grade is a time of transition for middle school students. This school year, students will be experiencing a variety of changes, including moving from having three core curriculum teachers in sixth grade to six teachers in seventh grade. Students will also be issued their own Macbook computer to use throughout the school year. As students grow as individuals, teachers will be giving them more responsibilities and opportunities. The academic program that we have organized for this year covers a wide variety of subject matter. As teachers, we believe the most important aspect of our classrooms will be to create an educational environment that supports student learning, so that students can feel confident about themselves. We believe our main mission is to teach students to be life-long learners. Seventh grade teachers are committed to do the following:
- To develop confidence and self-esteem.
- To create an educational learning environment that promotes confidence, responsibility and respect.
- To look for alternative ways of teaching and evaluating students.
- To promote effective communication between parents and teachers.
- To consider parents, students, and teachers all as part of the learning family.
- To develop a sense of community service.
- To develop writing and reading skills across the curriculum.
- To provide a 21st century learning experience through technology integration
- To prepare students to succeed in a 21st century work environment
- To develop awareness and skills about appropriate and safe internet use
A highlight of the grade seven experiences is our service learning project of working with children with kidney problems in the Hospital Civil.
