National Honor Society (NHS)
Membership in the National Honor Society is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a high school student. Induction into the society is based on a student’s commitment to the society’s principles of scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Each year, ASFG hosts a formal induction ceremony to celebrate the high level of achievement of the current NHS members and new inductees. Enjoy a sample of a keynote address.
Chapters of the society exist in more than 13,000 high schools in the United States and around the world with more than one million students actively participating in the organization. The ASFG chapter of the NHS is heavily active in external community service projects such as Tu Techo Mexicano de Occidente, Casa Hogar Nacidos para Triunfar, Juntos por un Caminar, CODENI, and Operation Smile to name a few. The chapter is also determined to support internal ASFG events like Art Fest, International Family Day, Open House, and Student-Parent Teacher Conferences.
