UH OH 2020 Premiere Showing

Dear Parents,
The American School Foundation of Guadalajara, A.C. High School Fine Arts Department is proud to present UH OH 2020, an original comedy show written and performed by ASFG students, faculty, and staff.
Performers, writers, and musicians have spent the last few months exploring the art of parody and comedy writing. The idea came about through a discussion between Dr. Julie Villand and Rebecca Schaffer in the midst of the beginning of the pandemic about what good medicine laughter is, especially during these challenging times.
A group of students, faculty, and staff signed up to create this seven part performance, which will premiere on YouTube, December 3 at 7:00 p.m., with a gathering in Miss Rebecca's Zoom room at 6:45 p.m. for a pre-show party, and 7:45 p.m. for a post-show celebration and bows.
Titles included in the show are Zoom Block Tango, Modern Major E-Pupil, Another Block in the Call, Homework Refuted, Working 5-9, I Will Survive, Kindergarten Physics Teacher, plus more. Director Rebecca Schaffer says, “It's been impressive watching the students grasp and fully implement the concepts of scansion, parallel rhyming, and comedic timing. We are excited to share this unique body of work created by our ASFG community.”

Estimados padres de familia:
Nuestro Departamento de Bellas Artes de high school se complace en presentar UH OH 2020, una comedia original escrita e interpretada por alumnos, maestros y personal del ASFG.
Artistas, escritores y músicos han pasado los últimos meses explorando el arte de escribir parodia y comedia. La idea se dio por una plática entre Dr. Julie Villand y Rebecca Schaffer al inicio de la pandemia acerca de la buena medicina que es la risa, especialmente durante estos tiempos desafiantes.
Un grupo de estudiantes, maestros y personal del ASFG han creado esta obra que consta de 7 partes, la cual se estrenará en el canal de YouTube el 3 de diciembre a las 7:00 p.m., nos reuniremos vía Zoom en la dirección de Ms. Rebecca a las 6:45 p.m. para una fiesta previa al show y a las 7:45 p.m. para una celebración después del show.
Los títulos incluidos en el show son: Zoom Block Tango, Modern Major E-Pupil, Another Block in the Call, Homework Refuted, Working 5-9, I Will Survive, Kindergarten Physics Teacher y más. La Directora Rebecca Schaffer nos comparte, “Ha sido impresionante ver a los estudiantes comprender e implementar los conceptos de escansión, rima paralela y sincronización cómica. Estamos muy felices de compartir este trabajo tan especial, el cual fue creado por nuestra comunidad del ASFG.”
